Introduction

The Department of Physics developed from its original Physics laboratory which is part of the basic laboratories (biology, physics and chemistry). Now in the auspices of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Department of Physics is colored by fields of (interest) applications that support the development of modern science and technology that will bring majors in international forums. In accordance with the development of science and technology, the Department of Physics formulates its vision and mission as follows:

  • Becoming an international quality study program in science, research and implementation of science and technology in the field of medical and environmental physics.
  • Being a high-quality institution that supports the development of applied science and technology to improve the lives of people and humanity.

Missions

  • Carry out high quality teaching and learning process.
  • Preparing graduates with international standards.
  • Serving the needs of local, national and international communities.

Interest Field Group

In the Department of Physics, there are various research groups. There is a research group based on the field of knowledge, interest, or proficiency of the lecturer, and is known as the interest group (KBM). In addition, there is a research group based on research studies, which involve various areas of interest. This group is known as a multidisciplinary research group. In general, the existence of KBM and multi-disciplinary research groups is expected to improve the climate, quantity, and quality of research in the Department of Physics, so that in turn will improve the quality of the Department, facilitate research grants, enhance cooperation, and provide the widest opportunity for students to can engage in and engage in research according to his field of interest.

Computational Physics and Modeling

The Group of Computational Physics and Modeling Interest Areas is self-directed at
theoretical physics study and developing physics modeling and computation.
