Basic Physics Laboratory is a central laboratory for physics in Universitas Brawijaya. Basic Physics Laboratory currently occupies 3rd floor Biomol Building (FMIPA environment) with an area of approximately 200 square meters. Basic Physics Laboratory is under the Department of Physics FMIPA Universitas Brawijaya. This laboratory has the main task as the organizer of Basic Physics practicum for undergraduate students (S1) in some faculties in Universitas Brawijaya. Each year the Laboratory serves approximately 3000 students divided into 2 semesters (odd and even). For the odd semester, the laboratory serves ± 1800 students, while the even semester serves ± 1200 students.

Practicum
The Basic Physics Laboratory provides more than 20 practicum titles covering all physics basics that meet the needs of physics in each faculty and department / study program. However, due to the limited face-to-face time (practice practicum), in an average semester 8-10 titles are awarded according to the study program’s discipline. For students who get the Basic Physics lab for 2 semesters are given 16-20 experimental titles. The time allocation provided for each session is 2 hours so that every day only 4 sessions are practicable. The number of students in each group is set from 8 to 10 people with 2 sets of tools for some specified experimental material. Some common (often) experimental material used is as follows:

Personil Laboratorium
The Basic Physics Laboratory personnel consist of a laboratory head, several practicum coordinators (lecturers), several lecturer assistants (students) and two laboratory and administration staff. The practicum coordinator is usually held by a lecturer in the subject of basic physics at the study program, while the practicum assistant is selected from a student who has a basic physics assistant certificate.

      1. Service tariff is calculated at a time of practicum (session), with a total of about 50 people.

      4. If the number of practitioners is less than 50 people, then the fees charged will be determined by mutual agreement with respect to the minimum tariff.
      5. The above cost includes: cost of guidance, material cost and equipment component, and cost of practical manual and certificate

      6. Research Service
        The tariff of research services is determined by mutual agreement by considering the type of equipment used, the duration of use, etc.
